Partners in Poland’s social economy
Lower Silesia Voivodship is boosting the region’s ‘third sector’ with the help of ESF funding.
Over EUR 3.7 million will go towards the creation of new non-government organisations (NGOs) and for capacity-building in NGOs already established in the sub-regions of Wałbrzyski, Wrocławski, Jeleniogórski and Legnicko-Głogowski.
Training, workshops, start-up support for social enterprises and other uses have been earmarked for the EU support, according to the Lower Silesian Voivodship Labour Office (DWUP). And these job-creation activities will be carried out by accredited organisations that have proved to be efficient in the past.
The DWUP is investing over EUR 400 million from its Regional Operating Programme (ROP) to tackle unemployment among different age groups. Part of the total EUR 2.2 billion allocated to the ROP for Lower Silesia comes from the European Social Fund.
